How I long for the day of black paper. I am the lost crayon that is never used. My purpose is to be thrown at someone or chopped in half, and its about to happen. I often wonder, what it would be like to be one of the better colors. To be the blue would feel great. These dweebs love to draw their sky that color, which always blew my mind, because the sky is white, but it’s just one of those things I guess. The moment is coming. These kids are getting restless. I am so desperate to keep going that I would even tolerate being one of the shit colors, like green or brown. Do you know how often these Twirps draw poop. Its obscene. There’s only so much Miss Scarlet can do for me now, my days are numbered.
I noticed a hand coming my direction to pull me out of my box. This was something abnormal for crayons like me. The other colors around were taken out on a regular basis and came back as often as they were taken. For me it was my first time and I knew what that meant. I was grabbed and placed in between both hands horizontally of the student that picked me. I couldn’t tell if it was a boy or girl, everything happened so fast. The next thing I saw coming was another

I feel for Miss Scarlett… I once thought I can write cheat sheets with a white crayon on white paper , theoretically the plan was brilliant… no one could read it…not even me LOL

You can read it if you paint over it with dilute water colors. The writing with white wax crayons won’t take up the color.šØ

I blame the teacher …. if you are going to have white crayons, then provide coloured paper. Simple …. also I hope that crayons are like worms which when cut in two can simply regenerate. Shorter but still functional as a worm or in this case a crayon. āļø š

The people in Montana’s Restaurant in Fredericton (NB, Canada) place brown paper on the wooden tables and leave crayons for the little children to keep them amused while they wait for their meals. I guess I’m in my second childhood: I grab those crayons and flowers blossom, stars and suns burn bright, birds fly up into trees, and wow … I’d never thought of life as a crayon, but you are sure giving me some great ideas! Love it!

Further to this: I think you could expand your idea into a longer story. It has so much potential. Age of the crayons, broken or unbroken, value of the colors — according to the colors, according to the kids, — and each color with its own personality. Please consider working further on this. It’s well worth the artistic investment.

It’s good. In just a few words you made me symphatized with the poor white crayon. Though it felt useless and helpless, it described things with wit and humor. And the ending was clever. Since it was first person narrative, it made sense to end so abruptly. Now I’m thinking what happen to that crayon? Whether it got thrown or broken in half?

Ah this is a very lovely imagery! White ain’t poor , it’s the richest and is more valuable since it is less used. Don’t we preserve the best for the greatest work? It is just a special crayon used on special paper and not everyone gets it’s worth. Just like some people who are very special but the world fails to recognize their worth. I love the story and this is my approach to it. š

The story also reminds me of people that do not seem as regular and normal as others, but funny enough their own unique skills are needed somewhere. The same way white crayon is most likely treasured somewhere…
